About Us

Floraglades Foundation was created by Harris and Anne Friedman in 1997
for environmental, research, and educational purposes.  Its primary focus is the
south-central part of Florida, with a particular interest in the Muse area of
Glades County, where its current preserves are located.  In 2002, after 5 years of successful operation as a charity, it received official determination of its continuing tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization from the US government, enabling donors to the foundation to receive tax deductions for their donations with confidence.  It is also registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under the Solicitation of Contributions Act(Florida Statute, Chapter 496) to legally solicit donations.

Harris Friedman, Ph.D. is the foundation's president.  Dr. Friedman is a retired
clinical psychologist.  He is now a professor, an extensively published writer, and
a researcher, with a focus on both transpersonal psychology and social change.

Anne Friedman, Vice-President, is a writer and artist.
